Differences between learning to play a recorder and a Native American wooden flute? - wooden flute
I have a fondness for Native American flutes and wanted to play the song. A friend heard me and I had a tape and said, "Here, try and if you like, you can buy an Indian flute. Well, there are clear differences between the two instruments, the number of holes, fingers, etc. I am also a very difficult time learning to play the flute and to obtain the correct fingering. It sounds terrible (but not the recorder when my friend plays a very nice tone). Does anyone have any experience with the differences play to learn, learning to play the recorder, play the Native American flute? Native Flute to learn more easily, instead of learning to play a recorder? I have many sources of the NAF, many works of art in its own right, but are reluctant to $ spend $ $ if I can learn to play.

Hello, I play recorder and baroque style in the Native American past, played, find the biggest difference is the different keys, whose instruments were expressed. You can also tons of good practice and patience. You can take a problem with your embochere and airflow will not forget us in the right colors, your time, it will not happen overnight. Native American styles is perhaps easier to play when it is done by hand Well.I hope this at least helps a little. With regard to the learning difficulties that are about the same. The recorder is much more "scientific" development - which is quite right, can play the notes in the chromatic scale in the West. The Native flute is much more limited - it sounds nice, but it sounds and notes are not on the scale of the Western practice. If you learn you can play the recorder native flute.
If you are not good with the drive that makes me doubt that you have better luck starting with a Native American Flute. Most students learn to play recorders in music class at school! I learned when I was in third grade, and I was not taken seriously. I do not know whether the Native American flute is more complex, or what, but the recorder is easier to learn a wind instrument too.
