I am aware of six methods to remove the slime / mucus. They are:

1. - The Best airway cough technique, all
Patients with COPD often have great difficulty in assembling a cough, high productivity, partly because of weakness and shortness of breath. Learning to
effective cough, however, is one of the best techniques of the airways, which you can teach.

2. Respiratory Therapy
Physiotherapy (CPT) can be cleaned manually or with a device to the airway. Manual chest physiotherapy is impinging on the rib cage
and / or back to loosen the thick secretions. The cleaning appliances for household air in general, can hand a low cost alternative to the CPT manual.

3. Postural drainage
Often physical therapy postural drainage is a technique for cleaning the air that uses gravity to remove secretions in the airways. There are at least 12 different positions from postural drainage performed, trying to focus depending on the area of the lungs,on.

4. Expectorants
Expectorants are helping a kind of medicine for coughs resolve the mucus in the lungs to the cough more productive. Expectorants are both
on the counter and by prescription.

5. Mucolytics
Mucolytics to help thin the mucus in the airways, making it easier expectoration. According to the Global Initiative for Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD), but mucolytic drugs are not part of the current standard treatment for patients with COPD. However, some doctors prescribe it and work, many COPD patients as well. Mucolytics are also available over the counter or on prescription from your doctor.

6. Mucus flutter valve device

As a well-hydrated is a solution. Hydration is important for the body to work well and stay healthy. I can not emphasize enough. The more hydrated you are, the more flexible is the mucus.

Muscinx prescription medications can help, like the water in your system to remove the mucus. You have to correct for these drugs to be supplied with working fluid.

Hot showers and flush nasal therapies can help to clear mucus in the sinuses, throat and mouth.

Help techniques for deep breathing and coughing may, here's a link.

I think I should stop now because you have COPD. If not help, more to the lungs clear. Smoking prevents the body to help it out.

Good luck

Deal and cough lies prone on a bed with his head down. It helps some, but not 100%.
